Can you believe it Cornwall Can went live 14 weeks ago and what an amazing adventure we have been on so far. We’ve been on walks through the Cameltrail and Tehidy Woods. Shared activities and recipes across the county via the social media outlets and most importantly met some incredible people across the way.
So we just thought we would give you a little update on all things Cornwall Can and what’s going on behind the scenes.
Firstly a massive well done to all taking part in the 50,000lb weight loss challenge. There is 185 if you signed up and you have collectively lost 438lb inthe last 14 weeks. We are incredibly proud of each and every single one of you. We hope you are proud too! You are certainly leading the way in showing the rest of Cornwall how it’s done.
Keep up the excellent work! But Please remember to keep spreading the word and our #CornwallCan on social media. We don’t want anyone to be alone on this journey, it’s hard and can be quite isolating. So let’s get everyone together as a community and work as one big team.
We would like to thank, every supporter of the campaign. We now have over 60 local businesses on board from across the county of Cornwall (some are even based in Plymouth/Devon) but they want to help you out in anyway they can. With several offering discount on sessions. This is very kind of you all.
Inthe last few months we have explored the local communities for support for diabetes. It may come as a shock to you but there are very very few volunteer led groups or community support for the prevention or advice for people with type two diabetes. For this reason, we are hoping to team up with exsisting groups to create an extra support group across the east Cornwall region. So fingers crossed this will be coming shortly and we will keep you posted on progress.
There has also been major support from Cornwall Council and local universities. To which we hope will have a major role in helping us to develop Cornwall Can.
If you have any issues or concerns please feel free to contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
